DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates branch delivery functions to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Scans completed packages for UPS charges/invoicing.

  • Maintains branch inventory and recommends adjustments based on customer demand and personal knowledge of inventory.

  • Performs bin maintenance and cycle counts as necessary for branch inventory.

  • Receives incoming product and packages. Distributes product and other packages to appropriate locations of the branch.

  • Ensures a safe working environment by keeping work areas orderly and clear of hazards.

  • Cleans, marks for shipping, packs, and ships finished goods to customers.

  • Orders supplies and product to ensure continued branch operations, inclusive of maintaining blanket orders.

  • Operates basic warehouse vehicles (i.e., electric pallet jack and/or forklift).

  • Resolves customer product and service issues by providing sales-related solutions utilizing common and alternative sources of information. Consults with other associates to locate the most effective sources of information.

  • Guides less experienced branch associates to resolve customer issues, increase product knowledge, and promote MSC Culture.

  • Provides customer service in accordance with MSC standards to ensure customer satisfaction, account retention, and revenue generation.

  • Communicates customer concerns to management to ensure the most effective and lasting problem resolution.

  • Supports counter sales in the branch to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Builds customer relationships via exceptional levels of service to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Works closely with vendors to produce quotes, expedite orders, locate sources for product, and arrange product training.

  • Supports outside sales representative in various branch activities.

  • Resolves more complex credit and collections issues to enhance customer service.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the branch and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission

  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • A high school diploma or the equivalent experience is required.

  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic is required.

  • A valid drivers license is required.

SKILLS

  • Excellent customer service and sales skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of warehouse processes and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • In order to meet customer service requirements, associates can be temporarily re-assigned to other warehouse functions.

  • Bending and lifting to move items that are at least 50 pounds.

  • Ability to operate at heights up to 50 feet high.

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
