BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

Drive consistency and efficiency in reporting across business areas through effective communication, intentional rationalization, and clear expectations. Explore and implement reporting and analytic tools that can be used across the business from FP&A to non-FP&A users. Manages team of 3 salaried professionals helping them deliver results, develop professionally, and prioritize demands

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive consistency and efficiency in reporting across business areas through effective communication, intentional rationalization, and clear expectations

  • Explore and implement reporting and analytic tools that can be used across the entire FP&A department as well as non-FP&A users

  • Works cross-functionally to prioritize competing demands while timely delivering actionable reporting

  • Manages team of 3 salaried professionals helping them deliver results, develop professionally, and prioritize demands

  • Develop and communicate process for new report design and creation

  • Leads efforts to move from ad hoc to consistent, efficient reporting

  • Designs and executes executive dashboards with drill down capability

  • Oversees the design and preparation of charts and graphs highlighting operational trends, identifying variances in trends and preparing explanations and corrective actions as necessary.

  • Manages budget for tools and systems to ensure resources are used wisely

  • Ensures effective internal controls and compliance with MSC’s accounting policies and procedures.

  • Performs all duties inherent in the role of MSC Manager as defined in the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review, and development of associates

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose

  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or equivalent required. MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of eight years of related experience required

·Minimum of two years of experience managing or overseeing associates in a finance environment required. Demonstrated leadership competencies and experience in leading projects and coaching individuals may be considered in lieu of the two year requirement.

  • Thorough knowledge of profitability analysis concepts and applications required

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices, including managerial accounting and financial analysis

SKILLS:

  • In depth knowledge of financial modeling and analysis is required

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills

  • Exceptional MS Excel and data retrieval skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required, and the ability to prepare and present concise and persuasive reports and presentations

  • Ability to use multiple software packages to enhance efficiency, efficacy and confidence of results

  • Comfortable delivering dissenting opinions supported by facts in a respectful manner

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time may be required.
