DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and maintains financial analysis models to monitor key expense drivers and interacts with finance and other departments to communicate issues and take corrective action if necessary.
Performs analysis of general ledger accounts on a monthly basis by retrieving information from JD Edwards System, entering or downloading the information in an excel spreadsheet, then summarizing and commenting on detailed information.
Assists in preparation of financial reports by comparing budget vs. actual. Analyzes, investigates and documents explanations and variances.
Analyze balance sheet accounts, expenses, and profitability by reviewing and comparing budget vs. actual and reviewing the components of these categories.
Coordinates the preparation of analytical reports for management review.
Participates in the monthly financial close process
Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or the equivalent is required.
Minimum of five years financial and operational business experience is required.
Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required.
Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is required.
Excellent analytical and data manipulation skills are required.
Excellent oral and written communications skills are also required.
