BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Analyst, Supply Chain Optimization will work directly with MSC’s Large Accounts team to qualify customers and profile sales history to identify profit enhancing actions in the customer supply chain. Leveraging reporting tools and analytics, the Lead will develop opportunities for our Specialists to apply SKU Optimization, Category Consolidation and Product Lifecycle processes, enhancing customer value while improving MSC’s profitability. The Lead will coordinate all communication with our NAM’s and OSA’s to ensure alignment prior to presenting the recommendations.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managers all customer facing projects including the qualification and prioritization of accounts
Coordinates all communication with National Account Managers (NAM’s) and Branch Sales Managers (BSM’s) for prospective customer improvement plans
Creates strategy for individual customer projects and provides direction for Specialist’s to follow when making recommendations
Provides QA and approves recommendations to ensure alignment with strategy & margin guidelines
Coordinates measurement of project results with Supply Chain Reporting & Analytics team
Manages the sample process and ensure adequate follow-up from MSC sales team to maximize “read-through” of recommended improvements
Collaborate with Manager, Customer Last Mile to ensure alignment with project plans & margin goals
Using product specifications, web searches and supplier data, the Specialist will analyze historic customer purchases and recommend alternative SKU’s to reduce Purchase Price (PPV)
Analyze customer sales history to identify opportunities to consolidate spend to fewer SKU’s or Brands, streamlining the Supply Chain and reducing operational costs of maintaining multiple sets of data and inventory locations
Able to train and perform all aspects of the Specialist, Supply Chain Optimization position
·Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.·Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Associates Degree or five years of experience in manufacturing or distribution with emphasis in supply chain, sales, or product management function is required
Advanced MS-Excel is required.
Working knowledge of MS-Access or related database tools
Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability is required.
Ability to prioritize multiple requests/projects and manage workload to meet deadlines is required.
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills are required
