Maintain optimum machine operation by ensuring timely replacement of consumables on all machines.
Consumables will include loading: Daily “fliers” into insertion machines, corrugated lids into Jivaro lidding machine, Label stock, Carton sealing tape, maintaining correct adhesive levels within auto gluing system, changing rolls of film within Helova air bag machine...
Max lifting weight of 70 lbs, Maintaining Printer paper levels within Print and apply machines.
Responsibility for daily cleaning of all machines to a specified procedure within job function.
Basic operation of machines including Start /Stop/Reset Operation and recovery from problems i.e. paper jams, product blockages etc.
Ability to liaise with maintenance personnel and describe equipment problems which affect operation and throughput performance.
Performs preventative maintenance tasks on packaging machinery.
Troubleshoots basic mechanical and pneumatic systems on packaging machinery.
Assists in ensuring OSHA safety compliance.
Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
Operates basic warehouse vehicles (i.e., electric pallet jack and/or forklift).
Participate and perform spill clean-up response.
Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or the equivalent required.
Implied or demonstrated mechanical aptitude, experience or ability required.
Must obtain MSC license to drive warehouse vehicles within specified time requirements.
Basic mechanical aptitude of equipment operation required.
Ability to work within a team and under pressure to attain daily production requirements.
Good communication skills required.
Ability and interest to adapt to introduction of new technology required.
Bending to lift items from the floor and racks required.
Lifting items of 50 feet regularly and 75 feet occasionally required.
Ability to operate at heights up to 35 feet required.
Ability to kneel, stoop, bend or stand for prolonged periods of time required.
- Position may require a valid states driver’s license.
