Position can be located in major metro areas within the eastern United States BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: Regional Onsite Manager primary role is to manage Site Managers, with a span of control of 10-15 locations; competencies include personnel management, distribution operations, and professional supply chain practices. Goals are to retain and grow established business, provide stability and guidance to the onsite staff, and to support the implementation of assigned new locations, helping to launch new sites on-time and at expected revenue.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direct supervision, mentoring, and supply chain guidance to integrated supply Site Managers located throughout the region.

  • Manages assigned plant executive relationships.

  • Manages key supply chain service level metrics, such as cost savings and inventory fill rates, in order to retain and grow established integrated supply business within the region.

  • Supports the project management team with the implementation of assigned new locations, helping to launch new sites on-time and at expected revenue.

  • Actively participates in the sourcing of products not available through MSC as well as the supplier relationship management of second tier supplier partners.

  • Provide weekly communications to each Site Manager, monthly communications with each client site champion, and visit each assigned location to discuss service levels and incremental spend opportunities no less than once per quarter.

  • Provide guidance, process management, and regular client reporting around all cost savings procedures, savings attainment, and service level metrics.

  • Coordinates other MSC resources and departments in their support of site projects and regular processes.

  • Identify and realize opportunities for expanded spend management within each site.

  • Review purchasing history for compliance with established sourcing strategies.

  • Review all Corrective Action Reports (CARs) for resolution by responsible associates weekly, and review any open CARs or issues with client site champions monthly.

  • Audit Site Managers and site operations versus established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on an annual basis.

  • Review onsite inventory for optimization opportunities at least twice per year.

  • Review all business management reports and provide guidance to Site Managers based on report production schedules (daily, weekly, monthly).

  • Evaluate existing SOPs and prioritize the revision of same on a continuous improvement process basis, to include sponsorship or participation in kaizen process improvement projects.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Successful candidates will either have a Bachelor’s Degree (in a business or supply chain related field) and a minimum of ten years’ relevant experience (including integrated supply, distribution, and/or indirect materials management for a large manufacturer) OR a minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience as described.

  • It is mandatory that the candidate have a minimum of two years’ experience as a site manager or operational leader for an integrated supply program.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to manage staff and clients across a wide territory.

SKILLS:

  • Plant-level executive relationship management, third party supplier management, indirect materials cost savings process expertise, personnel management, expertise with multiple supply chain platforms (SAP, JDE, Maximo, EAM, Cribmaster, Tofino, etc.), customer service, and inventory management.

  • Demonstrated product and application knowledge regarding industrial use MROP products, including any of various MROP categories such as perishable tooling, general industrial, electrical, power transmission (PTB), pipe valves & fittings (PVF), fluid power, electronics, automation, and/or safety.

  • General knowledge of the sourcing and market participants for all MRO categories.

  • Ability to work while on the road.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel an expected 50% of the time will be required.
