DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages all government orders arriving via EDI. This process includes but is not limited to:

  • Checking info for accuracy

  • Distinguishing between orders being shipped & Walk In Walk Out (WIWO) and following the proper processing procedures

  • Matching item numbers

  • Determining & communicating lead times of items listed as back-ordered

  • Identifying any SIN001 items and following proper processing procedure

  • Accurately routing orders through the Hazmat & Drop Ship Only process when necessary

  • Following detailed procedure for orders shipping to APO/FPO locations

  • Accurately processes and documents necessary information on all government Finance orders.

  • Manages and accurately processes all orders received from the Advantage portal.

  • Manages and accurately processes all Supplycore & Science Application International Corporation (SAIC) quotes and orders as dictated by customers’ specific instructions/requirements.

  • Answers all inbound government calls and process all government orders received via facsimile.

  • Manages all backorders for all government Servmart locations.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.

  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent required. BA/BS preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years customer service experience required.

  • Prior e-commerce and government related sales data entry experience preferred.

  • Experience interfacing with EDI applications/processes and government contracts is preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills required.

  • Excellent customer service and sales skills are required.

  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic required.

  • Knowledge of MSC products and nomenclature is preferred.

  • Good verbal and excellent written communications skills are required.

  • Computer literacy and proficiency with email, various internet browsers and/or the Windows operating system required.

  • Strong attention to detail required.
